Art and Events

La Sala del Torriano loves beauty and art. The labels of the Gran Selezione, Grappa and Vin Santo were created by the Tuscan artist Silvano Capeggi, known as “Nano” (1923-2018). It was he who painted all the billboards of the great American cinema in Italy, including, to name just a few, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Ben Hur, Casablanca and Gone with the Wind.

Nano was a close friend of the Rossi Ferrini family who suggested and organized the production of a documentary film about him “As Time goes by – The man who drew dreams” produced by Clipper Media, directed by Simone Aleandri and distributed by the Istituto Luce.

In 2020, La Sala del Torriano was present as a placement to support a project by Sankstudio www.sankstudio.de to support Syrian refugees. Artist Adam Broomberg made portraits that were exhibited alongside the works of painters such as Peter Doig and William Kentridge.
The works of these artists were put for auction to help refugees through the charity www.coculture.de
La Sala del Torriano is featured in the film “Fathers” directed by Mario Sesti, produced by Morol in collaboration with Rai Cinema.
